Topical chemotherapy is a non-invasive treatment option that can be effective for eliminating small cancerous growths on the surface of the skin and precancerous skin lesions such as actinic keratosis. Under this treatment method, a powerful medicated cream is applied on the lesion regularly as prescribed, which eventually destroys the cancer cells. Not all cases of skin cancer are eligible for treatment by topical chemotherapy.
